Here are two healthy options to kick-start your day the healthy way.
Oats Theplas

Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander, chopped
- 2 to 3 green chillies, finely chopped
- Few fresh methi leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tbsp oil
Method
- Grind the oats into fine flour.
- Boil 3/4 cup water. Add salt, coriander, chillies, methi leaves.
- Add oats atta stirring continuously till you get dough-like consistency. It has to be little hard as we have to roll it into theplas.
- Allow the mixture to cool.
- Apply a little oil and knead it into dough.
- Make small balls and roll each like a chapati.
- Heat a non-stick flat pan/ tawa. Place the thepla and cook on both sides.
- You can use oil if necessary.
- Serve hot with sauce or chutney.
Masala oats

Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium sized tomato, finely chopped
- 1 to 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Few curry leaves (optional)
- 1/2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- 1cup water
Method
- Soak oats in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds.
- When the seeds cackle, add curry leaves and green chillies.
- Add the chopped onions. Fry till translucent.
- Add tomatoes. Cook till soft and then add soaked oats. Mix well and add a cup of water.
- Add chopped coriander leaves and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Serve hot.
