BHMS course at National Institute of Homoeopathy

What: Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission to 5½ years Degree Course (BHMS) in Homoeopathy at the National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata (a premier institute under the Government of India), affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences for the academic year 2010-2011.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for the Schedule Caste/Scheduled Tribe) are eligible to apply.

The candidates should attain 17 years of age by 31st December 2010. For the candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2), candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of that examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof.

Visually challenged (including colour blind), mute, candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

Admission through All India Entrance examination: 63 (General: 31; OBC: 17; SC: 09; ST: 05; Orthopedically Challenged: 01) The candidates who are desirous of availing such reservation facilities under OBC quota are required to enclose attested copy of their OBC certificate issued by appropriate authority along with a declaration that she/he does not belong to creamy layer of the society

All-India Admission Test shall be of three hours duration. The pattern of questions will be of multiple choice types 200 questions – Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions), Biology (60 questions) and General Knowledge (20 questions). There will be Negative marking for wrong answers.

Filled in application (in candidate's own handwriting) is to be sent along with Bank draft for Rs 500 (Rupees five hundred only) in favour of Director, National Institute of Homeopathy, payable at Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/Money Order will not be accepted).

Important date:

Last date of submission of application is 30th April, 2010.

Exam details

The All-India Entrance examination will be held at seven Centres: Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhopal. Candidates should therefore give their choice of centre in the application. In case the number of candidates opted for a particular centre are less, then the centres at Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhopal will be cancelled and the candidates will be allotted the nearest centre.

Accordingly candidates who opt for Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhopal has to mention his/her second choice of centre of examination from amongst Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. Candidates must note that centre of examination once allotted to them shall not be changed and any request for such change ill not be entertained at any stage.
