This pair comes with quick-charging technology, which is unusual for earphones, says Khalid Anzar.
The Skullcandy Venue wireless on-the-ear earphones claim to have a battery life of up to 24 hours.
But in a cluttered market of Bluetooth earphones, the pair is unique on more than one count.
It has a plastic build with rubberised buttons on the bottom of each oval-shaped ear cup.
The ear cups have a soft leatherette dome with good cushioning.
The headband is adequately cushioned too, which makes the pair good for extended use.
Overall, the earphones look plush and feel comfortable.
The 10-step retractable earphones can be adjusted according to the size of one's head.
The Venue's Active Noise Cancellation feature works flawlessly.
It creates a kind of vacuum inside the ear cups to block ambient noise.
But the audio quality is not worthy of a premium Bluetooth pair.
Like the new smartphones, this pair comes with quick-charging technology, which is unusual for earphones.
It stands true to the company's claim of playing five hours of music from 10 minutes of charge.
Another useful feature, called 'Find with Tile', makes the earphones ring in case you misplace them.
Even with all its class-leading features, at Rs 18,999, the Skullcandy Venue does not have the sound quality to impress true audiophiles.
But its design, fit, battery life and superior ANC make the earphones worth trying out.
