Cheaper options

November 25, 2008
Don't have the moolah for an indulgence like this? No worries -- step into a day spa or a salon spa. These are spas where you make an appointment for a treatment and leave as soon as it's over. Some day spas like the Ayush Therapy Centre at Preet Vihar, New Delhi, offer ayurvedic massages for as little at Rs 600. To locate an Ayush centre in your city, visit Leverayush.com.

Blossom Kochhar's latest venture is to make the spa experience available to those (all over India and some places abroad) whose pockets aren't too deep. Body treatments at one of her centers, ranging from Rs 1,000-5,000 are extremely affordable for working women. Two of these spas have already been launched in Punjab, and she intends to launch one each month in different cities of India and abroad.

Also in the race to provide low cost spa treatments on a large scale is Shahnaz Hussain. Her spas, some of which are already up and running, will give you a great massage without burning a hole in your pocket. The one at Novotel Hyderabad, was launched this year and offers various packages that are quite reasonable. You will need to shell out about Rs 1800 for a massage here. For more information on the spa, check out Shahnazspa.in.

The Heavenly Spa by Westin, near Gurgaon charges anywhere between Rs 3,000 to 12,000, depending on the treatment package. You can contact them at +91 (0124) 450 8888.

Spa.ce in Bangalore is cheaper, with services starting at Rs 1,800. You can reach them at +91 (080) 4132 7526.

The Sonar Spa in Kolkata is rather reasonable too; it has treatment packages that range from Rs 2500- Rs 10,000. They are available at +91 (033) 2345 4545.

If you are in Mumbai, you might want to try the Rudra Spa at Kemps Corner. With packages starting at Rs 1,800, the indulgence is light on the pocket. Call them at +91 (022) 2387 9688.

Some salons offer selected spa treatments as well. The Lakme Salon in Vashi, Mumbai doesn't offer full-body massages, but if you would like a facial or a top body massage, they will do it for you. A basic facial will cost you anywhere between Rs 600-3,000, and a body polishing treatment will set you back by Rs 2,000. To locate a Lakme Salon in your city, click here.

So book your next spa appointment and start counting the days to your next rejuvenating experience!
