With the field narrowed to five, the remaining contestants had to describe a charitable or virtuous deed they had done, to demonstrate their handsome hearts.
Mr Padamsee said, "Males, the world over, now understand the importance of looking their best. It gives you confidence, makes you feel better about yourself and others. But ultimately, handsome is as handsome does. You must be handsome in your heart."
Then came the decisive moment, the award presentation. Keith Kelley, from Borivali, won the Second Runner Up title, while Rahul Tiwari, from Vashi, was named First Runner Up.
That left Rajeev Ranjan, a tall, strapping lad, to take home the grand prize: Mr Handsome 2007. Accompanying this award was a cheque for Rs 1,00,000. Rajeev will also be given the opportunity to appear in an Emami advertising campaign.
The event, which was limited to Mumbai-based college students this year, is expected to expand to India's other major metros in the years to come
