In the land of Lord Buddha

This was the place where Lord Buddha had not only spent many years but delivered sermons and proselytized emperor Bimbisar. Buddha's teachings were written here and Rajgir was the venue for the first Buddhist council.

Airfare for Rs 599 and less!

Rajgir has a number of places to see. We first stopped at Jarasand ka Akhara, the place where Bhim had fought with Jarasand. Ajatsatru fort was another place of interest. It was constructed by Ajatsatru, the king of Magadh during Lord Buddha's time.

One should not miss Bimbisar jail, where the emperor was imprisoned by his son Ajatsatru. It is said that Bimbisar used to watch Lord Buddha climbing up to his retreat on the top of Griddhakuta hill.
