Hair gels and mousse

August 1, 2007
Looks are very important, and unruly curls or windswept hair for a formal occasion just isn't acceptable anymore. That's where hair gels and mousse come in. While women have been using styling products on the hair for ages, the trend is slowly beginning to catch on with men.

"I have recently started using it and use it largely when we go partying," explains 19-year-old Vishal PM from Chennai. "I have slightly wavy and unruly hair. By applying gel, I find it easier to set my hair. It may sound like an advertisement but it really works for me."

However, he says, that you have to be careful while picking a brand. "I tried some local brands first but I started to lose hair," he says. "I then switched to an international brand and since then I have no complaints. You need to check which gel suits your hair type, before commiting to a brand."

He carries his gel even when he is traveling. "I am so used to my hair gel that I carry it everywhere I go. Most of my friends use hair gels too," he adds.
