What: The United States Educational Foundation in India invites applications for its Teaching Excellence and Achievement Programme.
Details
~ The programme will bring outstanding teachers from Eurasia and South Asia to the United States for six weeks.
~ The professional development programme is to develop expertise in the subject areas, to enhance teaching skills, and to increase their knowledge about the United States.
~ The academic programme will include coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum writing, teaching strategies and educational leadership.
~ Selected teachers will receive round-trip transportation, room and board and applicable allowances and will travel on J-1 visas.
Are you eligible?
~ You must be a secondary-level (classes IX to XII) full-time teacher in a recognised secondary school.
~ You must have at least five years of classroom experience in teaching English and social studies including history, civics, geography and economics.
~ You must live and teach in the states of Chhattisgarh, Goa [Images], Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and all Union Territories in Western India.
~ You must hold a bachelor's degree in the teaching subject with a teacher training degree.
~ You must be a citizen of India and be qualified to hold a valid Indian passport by January 31, 2007.
~ You must be present in India at the time of submitting the application and for the interview.
