Scholarships for wannabe journalists

What: A 50 per cent scholarship from the Sri Sri Centre for Media Studies, Bangalore, for any postgraduate student joining their one-year print and electronic media course by September 26.

When: The course begins on Monday, September 27.

Fees: Will now be Rs 50,000 for the whole year.

The course: Includes classes in video, film editing, still photography, web journalism, writing skills, economics, journalism ethics, Indian history, etc, along with assignments and an internship with a major newspaper.

The guarantee: A job in a television channel or mainstream newspaper at the end of the course if the student has been diligent.
