Tips to help you tackle Compulsive Shopping Disorder
1. Pay for your purchases by cash.
2. Always leave home with a limited amount of cash. It will stop you from binge shopping.
3. Hand your credit cards to someone you trust. Or keep one for emergencies and destroy the rest.
4. Always carry a shopping list -- and stick to it!
5. Try and avoid malls and shopping areas.
6. Window shop after stores close. Feel the urge during the day? No problem, just leave your cash and credit cards behind.
7. See SALE signs? Turn around. Walk the other way.
8. Don't be a Net victim. Think of credit card frauds.
9. When buying gifts for friends or relatives, make a list. And stick to it.
10. Divert your mind -- exercise, take a walk, chat with friends, read a book, listen to some music -- when you feel the urge to shop.
11. Feel an obsessive/uncontrollable urge to shop? Seek professional help.
