What's wrong with dreaming?

I am happy The Lord Of The Rings swept the Academy Awards last year. I felt happy I had done a small portion of the work that fetched them the Oscar for Visual Effects.

I am proud to be an Indian involved with such a huge film.

When I met the team last December, all of them said they never expected such work from Indians! When they said, "Now, nobody can stop you from doing work here," I felt honoured.

The Visual Effects Society of LA decided to make me a member of their society. I am the first person from India to get selected to such an elite club.

My next big project is Shekhar Kapur's bilingual Paani. Barrie Osborne is its producer. He introduced me to Shekhar Kapur.

I am sure Paani will be a trendsetter as far as visual effects is concerned.

I am also talking with Cinesite from UK, which made the Harry Potter series, and two major studios in Hollywood.

Technicians like us are not recognised or appreciated here by the media.

Believe me, India will be a powerhouse in this field in another five years. Like IT, it is labour intensive.

We have plenty of excellent technicians here.

I must say there is no shortcut to reach the top. There is a lot of hard work involved.

You also need sincerity, fire and passion.

I look for recognition and satisfaction and not money from my work. Money is a by-product.

My ambition is to win an Oscar independently.

Won't it be amazing if an Indian won a technical award? People might laugh at me now but what's wrong in dreaming?

I never thought I would be in this field but I am here.

I never thought I would win a National Award but I did.

I never thought I would do a Hollywood film but I did.

Now, let me dream of winning an Oscar too.

If you want to achieve something in life, you should dream. Like our President says, we should dream high.
