Wednesday night saw a round of celebrations in 11 Echoes, a nightclub in the western Mumbai suburb of Juhu, as Victoria No 203 prepared for its August 31 release.

Newcomer Soniya Mehra (daughter of the late actor Vindo Mehra), Jimmy Shergil, Preeti Jhangiani [Images], director Anant Mahadevan and producer Kamal Sadanah attended the big bash.

The film is a remake of the 1972 classic of the same name, produced by Kamal's father Brij Sadanah. Though the new film will have the same story, there will be a few deviations. For instance, Preeti Jhangiani's character is a new one, and was not present in the original.

Can remakes carve a niche in rapidly changing Bollywood? Ultimately, it's you, the audience, who will decide.
