The film has been shot extensively in Musheerabad jail in Hyderabad. Interestingly, the jail was slated for demolition when Kukunoor's team got a stay order to shoot the film.

The film was completed at a hurried pace in 36 days, just two days before the scheduled demolition date.

Shooting the film in sync sound was another challenge as the jail was situated in the middle of a city.

3 Deewarein is slated for release on August 1.
