Paravasu's younger brother, Arvasm (Milind Soman), is in love with a tribal girl Nittilai (Sonali Kulkarni). He is even prepared to risk the wrath of his family by marrying outside his Brahmin caste.

It is the purity of their love that finally brings salvation to the land.
