Bombay Dreams crosses 10 million pounds
Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical will celebrate its 200th performance in London
Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical, Bombay Dreams, which features music by A R Rahman, has broken through the 10 million pounds barrier at the box-office, said theatre officials in London.
So far, over 300,000 people have been to see the show, which celebrates the Bollywood movie musicals of India.
The show, which opened in June, celebrates its 200th performance tomorrow at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre.
Bombay Dreams, which has lyrics by Don Black, focuses on a poor but handsome young man who dreams of becoming a Bollywood movie star. It is directed by Steven Pimlott, who directed the hit revival of the Lloyd Webber musical Joseph And the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Bookings are now being taken until October next year.
