J P Dutta pulled off a dream casting coup when he got the father-son pairings of Sunil and Sunjay Dutt, and Dharmendra and Sunny Deol, together in this ambitious project. As if that lineup wasn't enough, he then went and topped it off with Vinod Khanna, Raveena Tandon, Meenakshi Sheshadri and Divya Bharti. And most importantly, ensured that every single one of the stars of this Rajput drama got sufficient space to shine in.

Yash Chopra’s Parampara (Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Raveena Tandon, Ashwini Bhave, Neelam Kothari, Ramya Krishna, Vinod Khanna, Sunil Dutt) had a pretty similar theme, and was released at the same time.

Both flopped!
