The trite storyline was obviously created to accomodate the three top heroes of the time -- Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor -- and of course their glamourous co-stars Parveen Babi, Neetu Singh and Shabana Azmi.

Although the film was a huge success, director Manmohan Desai dismisses it as his most ordinary effort, preferring his own earlier film Aa Gale Lag Ja.
