"Seat sharing for Bihar have already been decided. I can not divulge anything (in this regard). The announcement would be made by Arun Jaitley [Images] of BJP" Bihar CM told media persons in New Delhi [Images] before leaving to Patna.
Kumar along with his party chief Sharad Yadav, who had a meeting over lunch with BJP leaders LK Advani [Images] and Arun Jaitley, said the afternoon meeting was a deliberation on seat sharing in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh [Images] between the two allies.
The JD-U leader declined to comment anything further on the seat sharing formula. When asked that he is being projected as the third front's prime ministerial candidate in the absence of a majority for either UPA or NDA, he said, "I do not dream such things."
As per sources, JD-U is adamant for more seats in Bihar. The last seat sharing formula for the ruling alliance in Bihar had been 16 and 24 seats for BJP and JD(U) respectively.
RJD, LJP leaders discuss seat sharing for 40 LS seats in Bihar
Meanwhile, senior leaders of Lalu Prasad-led Rashtriya Janata Dal and Ram Vilas Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party on Friday discussed the nitty-gritty of the vexed issue of seat sharing among partners of the United Progressive Alliance for the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
Sources said that although the talks failed to resolve the deadlock over the Seohar seat on which both the LJP and RJD are adamant, both parties are close to an agreement on the number of seats they would be contesting.
While the LJP wants to field Mahnar MLA Rama Singh from the Seohar seat, RJD has its sitting Member of Parliament on the seat, whom it is in a mood to dump.
