'My father and Sonia share mutual respect'

April 23, 2009

On the equation between Sonia Gandhi and Dr Singh

Trust. I guess both have mutual respect and mutual trust. I think trust between two individuals happens or it doesn't happen. I don't think you can actually create it. It is coming from both of them.

Both of them must have wanted that and it seems to have worked. I have no idea what has worked between them. You should ask him or her. I think it is partnership. One day, I hope to understand it better, but perhaps, now is not the time. My father doesn't talk about it.

At home, all of us know how much he respects her and has a high opinion of her. He never speaks about these things. He never tells us anything about anything. If he is in a good mood he may tell us something only when asked.

But we know that she has strong morals.

Asked about Dr Singh's single most important achievement, Daman Singh says, "I think my father has given a lot of dignity to our country. He has enhanced national dignity."
