'Pawar likes to be surrounded by sycophants'

April 22, 2009
Why do you think Sharad Pawar sidelined you?

He has made a huge mistake by hurting the self-respect and pride of the people of Kolhapur. My fellow Kolhapuris will teach him a lesson for this act on April 23. People are very unhappy with him for showing disrespect to their aspirations.

But why did he do this? Is it because the party thought of giving the ticket to a young aspirant?

My age has got nothing to do with it. The main reason is Sharad Pawar likes to be surrounded by sycophants. Look at Praful Patel. Even while he lost the Lok Sabha election in 2004 he was made a Rajya Sabha MP and also the minister for civil aviation.

I have nothing personal against Praful, but I can't behave like him and act like Pawar's toady.

This must have angered Pawar and he denied me a re-nomination. He may be making a big hue and cry about democracy, but in reality Pawar is a dictator. He is worse than even (Adolf) Hitler.

He has miserably failed in fulfilling his responsibilities entrusted by the farmers to him as the agriculture minister.
