How will your politics be different from your dad's?
Not different at all. It is for development. He is a grassroots worker. He has visited all these villages (in the Sahyadris. Pawar set records in his heyday for visiting 40 villages at a go and for intimately knowing his constituency and it needs/problems and working on them and for the fact that once he met someone he never forgot a face or name).
How will you prove that you are more than just Sharad Pawar's daughter? And that you are different from the other sons and daughters of politicians in the fray, some of whom have not achieved much?
Only time will tell... My honesty and if I do my job with full integrity. I do it (in any case) for my satisfaction. It makes me happy. I feel if I can help and make a difference to a few lives for me it gives great satisfaction. Every human wants to do betterment for herself and for everybody else around them.
But, of course, it is a tough task. He (her father) has managed something (special). It is like a dream come true -- a boy born in a village, who dreamt of something and has achieved it. It will be extremely challenging. My strategy will be more development, that's all. Water. Electricity. Education. Healthcare. Livelihood.
I will do what I can, to the best of my ability. He is a very progressive leader.
But the issues you have dear to your heart must be different from his?
Yes and no. He has always gone for education and empowerment. I take a lot from him because I feel he is very grounded and rooted and I feel I would like to be like that.
