Raghunath Salunke has been accompanying Deepak Nikhalje for the past three months.
"I drive bhau to different areas. Then he gets down and starts his padayatra. I follow him in case he changes his mind and decides to take the car. But he always walks."
"There are several slums in Chembur. During the rainy season, the gutters overflow and rainwater enters these houses. As a result, several children fall sick. Garbage burned at the Shivaji Nagar dumping yard is causing pollution. People in Chembur suffer from respiratory diseases like asthma. I am here for samaj seva (social work) and want to change such appalling living conditions," says Nikhalje.
The question is: Will Nikhalje walk his talk and deliver all that he promises?
