PURNO AGITOK SANGMA

Purno Agitok Sangma, former Lok Sabha Speaker and once a minister in the Rajiv Gandhi-led government at the Centre, contested on a National Trinamool Congress ticket from one of the two Lok Sabha constituencies in Meghalaya. He defeated Dr Mukul Sangma of the Indian National Congress with 1,91,938 votes.
