Her father-law Bhagwat Jha Azad was a chief minister of Bihar. Her husband was a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning side. Poonam Azad has much more modest aspirations -- she just wants to win a seat in the Delhi assembly, as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. And oh yes, the candidate she wants to vanquish? Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit!

Accompanied by husband Kirti, Vinod Khanna, Union Minister Jagmohan and cricketer Ajay Jadeja, Poonam filed her nomination papers at Patiala House in New Delhi on Wednesday, November 12.
