Panthers Party joins race for government formation in J&K

Election 2002 The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party on Friday joined the race for government formation in the state.

"We would like to seek support from secular parties like the Congress, People's Democratic Party and CPI (M) in forming government, though our strength is just four in the newly elected assembly," party president Bhim Singh said in Jammu.

Asked if the JKNPP had received any feelers from the Congress or PDP, he said these matters would be first discussed in the party's executive.

He said in the event of any differences between the Congress and PDP on the issue of chief ministership, the JKNPP could be a deciding factor in resolving the crisis.

He said the National Conference had lost because its mis-governance had led to alienation and resentment among common people.
