Keshari Lal of the JD won the 1989 and 1991 elections from here, and in 1996 he came third. Dhaniram Sankhwar, who as the Congress candidate lost to the JP in 1980, was in the fray as the BSP candidate, and he lost to the BJP's Kamal Rani by 9,000 votes.
