Elections 98
K K Tewari was first elected from here in 1980, and retained his seat in the next election. In 1989 and 1991 the battle was between the CPI's Taj Narayan Singh and the BJP's Kamal Singh, with the latter winning. In 1996 Singh was defeated by the BJP's Lal Muni Choubey. In the seventh position winning 0.99 % of the votes was Tewari, the most voluble I&B minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government. |
