As the beleaguered Indian cricket team, hoping for a turnaround in its fortunes in Australia, battles it out in the ODI tri-series, one of its key players is attempting nearly the same in a completely different field.
Yuvraj Singh, India's premier batsman in the limited-overs' format, was diagnosed with lung cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy in the United States. It's a complete reversal in fortunes for the Punjab left-hander, who nearly a year ago, played a stellar role in India's World Cup triumph.

Now, he faces the most difficult challenge of his life.
That the tumour was detected in the first stage itself and will not require surgery must have come as a big relief to his family, friends and fans.
