Shikhar Dhawan, besides making a stunning Test debut against Australia, also displayed excellent form in the shorter format of the game.

In fact, he is of the top performers in one-day cricket this year.

The 28-year-old has, in 25 matches this year, aggregated an impressive 1162 runs (@50.52).

Dhawan has scored five centuries and four fifties in the period.

Considering he played his first one-dayer only in June it is an impressive aggregate.

But will it be good enough to win him the award on December 14?

Take the poll and have your say.

Will his captaincy do the trick?

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, besides being the lone Indian short-listed for the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, for the 'ICC Cricketer of the Year', also makes the list in this category.

Besides scoring 753 runs from 20 innings, he has led India with aplomb.

Among his best results is the 4-0 whitewash of Australia at home - India’s the first-ever clean sweep against the Aussies -- and triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy.

His reputation as finisher has been further bolstered during the course of the year.

Does Dhoni have a good chance of winning? Is one of the others named below more deserving?

Take the poll and have your say.

Jadeja has been impressive with the ball

Ravindra Jadeja is the third Indian in the fray.

The 25-year-old has played a steady role with the bat, having aggregated 462 runs from 21 innings, batting at No.7.

However, it is with the ball that Jadeja has done exceptionally well.

A haul of 52 wickets (@24.73) from 22 matches underline his credentials as a wicket-taking bowler.

Will he upset the applecart?

Take the poll and have your say.

Ajmal has 53 wickets this year

Saeed Ajmal was in exceptional form.

The 36-year-old has a haul of 53 wickets (@19.94) in 13 matches this year and won many matches singlehandedly for Pakistan.

Can he win the coveted award?

Misbah has been amazingly consistent with the bat

Not quite the finisher Misbah-ul Haq was a consistent performer for Pakistan, nonetheless.

An aggregate of 1223 runs from 29 matches (@53.17) bears testimony to the fact.

He scored as many as 13 half centuries this year.

However, he was entirely successful in moulding Pakistan into a consistent outfit.

Can personal form triumph over team failure?

Take the poll and have your say.

Sanga has been consistency personified

Kumar Sangakkara was consistency personified with the bat.

The former captain was in equally good form in all the formats, even if Sri Lanka struggled on most occasions.

Sanga has 954 runs from 19 ODIs in 2013.

Will it be good enough to win the coveted honour?

Take the poll and have your say.
