- Chamu Chibhabha was making his 50th One-Day International appearance. He became the 387th player overall and the 31st Zimbabwean to do so.

- Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan added 122 runs for the first wicket -- Sri Lanka's highest opening partnership against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe. The previous best was 96 between Sanath Jayasuriya and Romesh Kaluwitharana at Bulawayo QSC on 11-12-1999.

The opening partnership contributed 51.69% of Sri Lanka's total. This is the third highest contribution by the opening partnership for Sri Lanka in all ODIs (where the team has been all-out).

- It was only the third time that Zimbabwe dismissed Sri Lanka in a home ODI. The other two occasions were on 12-12-1999 and 19-12-2009 at Bulawayo and Harare, when Sri Lanka were bowled out for 213 and 202 respectively.

- Brendan Taylor's three catches are the maximum by a Zimbabwe fielder against Sri Lanka. The previous record was of two catches held by 9 players (on 13 occasions).

- Thilan Thushara, playing in his 38th match, claimed his 50th wicket in ODIs when he dismissed Hamilton Masakadza (caught by Dinesh Chandimal). He became 213th bowler overall and 22nd Sri Lankan to do so.

- Taylor (119 not out) became the sixth Zimbabwean batsman (on seventh occasion) to score a hundred against Sri Lanka. Andy Flower has scored two hundreds.

- Taylor also surpassed his previous highest score of 118 not out, made against Bangladesh at Chittagong on 05-11-2009.

- Taylor and Chibhabha added 134 runs for the second wicket -- Zimbabwe's highest partnership against Sri Lanka at home soil for any wicket. The previous highest was the 131-run partnership between Stuart Carlisle and Andy Flower for the fourth wicket at Harare on 18-12-1999. Incidentally, Zimbabwe's previous highest second wicket partnership against Sri Lanka at home soil was only 92 between Andy Flower and Alistair Campbell at Harare on 05-11-1994.

- The above partnership is also Zimbabwe's highest for second wicket against Sri Lanka -- home or away. The pair obliterated the previous record stand of 105 between Grant Flower and Murray Goodwin at Colombo RPS on 24-01-1998.

- Zimbabwe's eight-wicket victory is their biggest against Sri Lanka. They had beaten them by seven wickets at Sharjah on 07-11-1998. Zimbabwe have now registered five wins by eight wickets or more.

- This is only the third time Zimbabwe won three games in a tournament against Test teams. They had won four out of seven in the NatWest Series in England in 2000 (opponents: England & West Indies); and three out of five games in Coca Cola Champions Trophy in UAE in 1998 (opponents: India and Sri Lanka).
