Statistical highlights of the Indian Premier League match between Deccan Chargers and Bangalore Royal Challengers in Cape Town on Wednesday night.

# Adam Gilchrist is the first batsman from Deccan Chargers to reach 500-run mark in the IPL -- 520 at an average of 34.66 in 16 games, including one century and four fifties.

# Gilchrist's MOM award was his third in IPL.

# The leading six batsmen so far in the IPL are Shaun Marsh (616), Gambhir (549), Sanath Jayasuriya (540), Gilchrist (520), Rahul Dravid (505) and Rohit Sharma (492).

# Gilchrist (71 off 45 balls) recorded his best innings against Bangalore Royal Challengers, surpassing the 46 off 37 balls in Hyderabad on May 25, 2008.

# Gilchrist's knock is his second best in the IPL -- his highest being an unbeaten 109 off 47 balls in Mumbai on April 27, 2008.

# Gilchrist is now the first to make 500 runs as a wicketkeeper.

# Twelve sixes were recorded in Deccan's total, the most number by the team in an innings, surpassing the 11 against Mumbai in Mumbai last year.

# Deccan Chargers have now recorded 108 sixes in the IPL, the most by any team, obliterating Kings XI Punjab's tally of 106 sixes.

# Rohit Sharma posted his fifth fifty in the IPL. He has taken his IPL tally to 492 at an average of 41 in 15 matches.

# Deccan Chargers have now won four matches out of 16 contested by them in the IPL.

# Deccan have won two IPL games in succession for the first time -- by 8 wickets against Kolkata in Cape Town on April 19, 2009 and by 24 runs against Bangalore at Cape Town on April 22, 2009.

# Deccan Chargers (184 for 6) recorded the highest score in the second edition of the IPL, bettering Chennai's 179 for five against Bangalore at Port Elizabeth on April 20, 2009.

# The match produced 344 runs for loss of 14 wickets -- the highest in second edition of IPL, eclipsing the 311 for 14 wickets between Chennai and Mumbai in Cape Town on April 18.

# Deccan Chargers posted their first victory against Bangalore Royal Challengers in three IPL games. In the last edition, Deccan Chargers had lost both their games.

# Both Bangalore and Deccan now share the record for losing most games (12) in the IPL.

# Kevin Pietersen  produced his best bowling performance, eclipsing the 1/14 against Chennai at Port Elizabeth on April 20, 2009.

# Jesse Ryder has recorded his second successive duck, joining Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag, who had earned the dubious distinction in the first edition.

# Virat Kohli posted his maiden fifty, surpassing the 38 off 29 balls against Hyderabad in Bangalore on May 3, 2008.
