All-rounder Kieron Pollard's attacking brand of cricket in Champions League T20 has impressed Australian side New South Wales (NSW), who are planning to rope in the West Indian for their domestic Twenty20 event Big Bash.

Confirming the move, Cricket NSW Chief Executive Dave Gilbert said they would approach the 22-year-old Trinidad & Tobago player, who blasted an 18-ball 54 against them in a group match of the Champions League Twenty20 in India.

"Well we've had some good chats to him, and he's keen. I'm sure there are others too who are trying to rope him. We'll see what happens, but have our fingers crossed," Gilbert was quoted as saying by Sydney Morning Herald.

Pollard scored 25, which included three huge sixes, in the Champions League Twenty20 final, which the Australian side won.

NSW skipper Simon Katich was also hopeful about signing Pollard next year.

"I think the contract was on the table about 10 minutes after that innings (against NSW) finished and he won the game for them. Hopefully we might have him in our ranks come January next year," Katich said.
