-Scorecard: Australia vs West Indies, 1st Test

Australia registered a comprehensive innings-and-65-run win over West Indies on Day 3 of the first Test match in Brisbane on Saturday.

The visitors were again unable to stand up to Ben Hilfenhaus, as they crashed to 187 in the second innings following on. West Indies opener Adrian Barath fought hard in the losing cause, as he hit century on debut.

Barath, 19, became the youngest West Indian to score a Test ton, made 104. During his knock, the Trinidad and Tobago player hit 20 fours.

For West Indies, it was the same old script of being unable to hold the fort, as the team crumbled under Hilfenhaus' line and length, taking three wickets, which earned him the man-of-the-match.

Barath, in the process, overtook George Headley as the youngest West Indian to score a Test ton, and also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar, who hit a century against the Aussies almost 18 years ago.

Earlier, Australia picked five wickets in the opening session to roll the visitors for a total of 228 in their first innings. Aussie skipper had little hesitation in putting West Indies batsmen back again and bowlers responded in wrapping up the game with two days to spare.

Hilfenhaus had taken 2/50 in the first innings as well. The pacer took three for 20 from his seven-over opening spell, dismissing skipper Chris Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, before all-rounder Shane Watson finally brought an end to Barath's superb effort.

Dwayne Bravo (23), Denesh Ramdin (16) and Sulieman Benn (15 not out) were the only other batsmen to make it into double figures in the second innings as the visitors lost 15 wickets over the course of the day.
