Graham Gooch's feat is probably the most unique.
The then England captain scored a record 456 runs in the opening Test against India at Lord's in 1990, 333 in the first innings and 123 in the second.

He remains the only batsman to have scored a triple hundred and a hundred in two innings of the same match, and his aggregate (456) for the match is still a world record for a Test.
His exploits with the bat helped England thrash India by 247 runs in that Test.
