Venkatesh Prasad, the former medium-fast bowler and current bowling coach, walked the ramp in the 1996 World Cup jersey. It was perhaps fitting that he got to sport the jersey that made him the most famous person in the country after the famous send-off he gave Pakistan opener Aamir Sohail.

"I just cannot forget that incident for the simple reason that people keep reminding me of it," he said.

Prasad, who is currently serving as India's bowling coach said the introduction of technology and support staff has taken fast bowling to a new level.

"Yes to a certain extent it [fast bowling] has changed because now there is a support staff, somebody guiding the bowlers and also the video analysis assessing the bowlers.

"The bowlers get the first hand information on where they can improve and how they can go ahead in terms of their bowling whether it is technically or tactically which we didn't have," he said.
