India vs SA, 2nd Test, Day 2

April 4, 2008

South Africa batsman AB de Villiers drives through the leg side during Day 2 of the second Test match against India at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera on Friday.

De Villiers, who had scored 55 runs (44 and 11) in the opening Test at Chennai, failing to cash in on a flat wicket, made amends in Ahmedabad. India's paltry first innings total (76) also ensured that he could structure his innings in a manner he wanted to, as there was no pressure whatsoever.

Needless to say, he made most of the opportunity and scored an unbeaten 217.
