Sachin Tendulkar [Images] will undergo a fitness test on July 19, a day before the Indian squad for the One-Day International tri-series in Sri Lanka [Images] is to be named.

Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Niranjan Shah said the Board has been updated on Tendulkar's fitness by physio John Gloster, who will be co-ordinating with the Mumbai batsman on a daily basis.

"Tendulkar will undergo the test on the eve of the selection committee meeting on July 19," Shah said.

The decision puts to rest speculation that Tendulkar would be allowed more time to regain match fitness since the tri-series, also involving South Africa, is slated to begin only on August 14.

The world record holder for most Test centuries tested himself in match situations while playing for celebrity club Lashings in the UK recently but as per BCCI guidelines for injured players, he will have to prove his fitness before making himself available for international action.

Tendulkar missed the seven-match one-day series against England [Images] as also the entire tour of the West Indies [Images] following a shoulder injury and a subsequent surgery in March.

Selection committee chairman Kiran More said Tendulkar's inclusion in the Sri Lanka-bound squad depends solely on his passing the fitness test.

"Tendulkar will undergo fitness test next week and it all depends on whether he clears it," More said.

A short camp will be held in Bangalore, starting July 25.
