Australia were denied a morale-boosting win before the first Ashes Test when Sydney-born Chris Rogers hit a double century to earn Leicestershire a draw on Sunday.
Australia led by 365 on first innings having declared on their overnight scoreof 582 for seven.
Stuart MacGill took four for 122 but the tourists were made to work hard for their wickets as Australian Rogers smashed 209 to help Leicester reach 363 for five at the close.
Paceman Brett Lee [Images] ended a 247-run opening partnership but conceded 78 from 13 overs while Jason Gillespie and Michael Kasprowicz bowled 20 overs apiece without reward.
The first Test between England [Images] and Australia at Lord's starts on Thursday.
