Punjab romp to an innings victory

Gagandeep Singh took the last three Hyderabad wickets for the addition of 31 runs to help hosts Punjab beat the visitors by an innings and 151 runs on the fourth day of the Ranji Trophy Elite B Group match at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Monday.

Resuming at the overnight score of 168 for seven, Hyderabad were all out for 199 chasing a first innings deficit of 350 runs.

Punjab scored 550 for seven declared in reply to Hyderabad's first innings total of 200 all out.

Overnight batssman Khaleel (102) was the first to go after the addition of just one run to his personal score. He was caught by Gupta off Gagandeep Singh when the board read 179.

Kaushik Reddy (33) was the next victim of Gagandeep Singh when the score was 199.

Gagandeep Singh took the third wicket of P Ojha (0) at the same score.

The win gave Punjab five points, including a bonus point.
