Statistical highlights: Australia v Zimbabwe

This match was the 2091st Limited Overs International in cricket history.

Blessing Mahwire was made his debut. He became the 77th player to represent Zimbabwe in the shorter version of the game.

Tatenda Taibu played his 50th match. He became the 18th Zimbabwean and the 282nd player overall to do so.

This match was the 63rd abandoned match in LOIs. Australia and Zimbabwe have now been involved in 14 and 8 abandoned matches respectively. Incidentally India hold the record of being involved in most such matches – 23. It was also the first abandoned match between Australia and Zimbabwe out of the 24 contested in between the two. Ricky Ponting (35 off 58 balls) completed his 2000 runs as Australia's captain. He became fourth Australian (after Allan Border, Steve Waugh and Mark Taylor) and 15th player in the world to do so. The following table lists the leading run-scoring captains in LOIs:

As many as seven batsmen crossed 20 during the Australian innings. This equals the existing LOI record of most individual scores of at least 20 in a team's innings. This record has now been made on 11 occasions with Australia doing so on five occasions.

Brad Haddin (32 off 46 balls) posted his best LOI score surpassing the 14 also against Zimbabwe at Adelaide on 26-01-2004.
