Polly is a cracker

Following in Hansie Cronje's footsteps would not have been an easy job for anyone, let alone one as talented as Pollock, but he did pretty well.

Not as imaginative as his predessesor, with Pollock you knew exactly what was going to happen. He had one plan and stuck to it no matter what.

The wins still kept coming and South Africa's position as one of the top cricket-playing nations was maintained.

But Pollock had his share of grievances, "Ever since the Hansie issue there has been an effort to make sure that the captain isn't given too much power and that responsibility is shared," he said.
