Highest partnership in an overseas Test

The 303 run-partnership between Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman for the fifth wicket is the highest partnership for any wicket for India in an 'away' Test. The previous best was 255 run-partnership between Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar for third wicket against England at Trent Bridge in 1996.
The Dravid- Laxman partnership is also the third highest for any wicket and highest ever for the fifth wicket by a visiting side in Australia.
The previous highest fifth wicket partnership on Australian soil by a visiting side was 196 runs between Ravi Shastri and Sachin Tendulkar for India at Sydney in 1991-92.
Overall it was the 10th highest partnership for any wicket against Australia.
