Flintoff and Giles to miss next two Tests

England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff and left-arm spinner Ashley Giles will miss the next two Ashes Tests through injury, team spokesman Andrew Walpole said on Tuesday.

Walpole said neither player would be available for the second Test starting on Thursday or the third beginning in Perth on Friday next week.

England, beaten by 384 runs within four days in the first Test in Brisbane, have already lost their leading strike bowler Darren Gough and promising paceman Simon Jones for the remainder of the series.

Flintoff has not played on tour after a hernia operation while Giles has been ruled out after his wrist was broken in the nets on Tuesday.

"The first ball that he faced from Stephen Harmison struck him on the left wrist," Walpole said. "The X-rays revealed a fracture and he'll be out for six weeks."
