Streak lays Windies low
Skipper Heath Streak came up with a brilliant allround performance to lead Zimbabwe to
a memorable 47-run victory over the West Indies in the tri-nation series, at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Coming in at number eight, Streak scored 45 from 70 balls in Zimbabwe's total of 138 before excelling with the ball. The 26-year-old from Bulawayo, who opened the bowling, claimed
four wickets for only eight runs from eight overs as the West Indies crashed for 91, only four runs better than their lowest-ever one-day total.
It was Zimbabwe's first victory in three matches in the
tournament, which also features Australia, placing them level with the Windies.
Medium-pacer Bryan Strang gave Heath superb support,
snapping three wickets for 15 runs from eight overs.
