"Fiery" Fred

The ex-England International and Yorkshire legendary cricketer, Fred Trueman holds the cricket ball with which he got his 300th Test Wicket (Neil Hawke of Australia caught by Colin Cowdrey at slip) prior to The Fiery Fred Collection Auction being held at the Grovesnor Hotel, London.

That ball is expected to fetch about $50,000 at the gala dinner.

Trueman is holding the auction because his family is not interested in cricket and he is worried his memorabilia might get stolen. He doesn't need the money and says he has all the memories he needs etched in his head.
