Highlights:Australia's win by 285 runs was the fourth largest at this venue. It was Australia's second largest victory at Adelaide after its 382 run win against England 105 years ago - in 1894-95.
It was India's fifth largest defeat in Tests and its second largest against Australia. It had lost at Perth in 1991-92 by 300 runs.

    Highlights:Shane Warne captured his 350th wicket (of Kanitkar) of his career in his 80th match. He becomes the second Australian after Dennis Lillee (355 in 70 matches) to do so. He also becomes the 10th bowler in Test history to reach this milestone.
    Brett Lee's 5-47 was the best bowling performance by an Australian bowler making his Test debut against India. The previous best was the 4-46 by Wayne Clark at Brisbane in 1977-78. Lee's figures was also the seventh best bowling performance by an Australian debutant.

      Highlights:Laxman's innings was now the most dominating Test innings ever played against Australia. Englishman Johnny Tyldesley had scored 62 runs out of 103 at Melbourne in 1903-04 to register 60.19% of his team's total.
      Justin Langer's 223 was the highest ever score made by an Australian against India. The previous highest was the 213 by Kim Hughes at Adelaide in 1980-81. The previous highest score at this venue against India was the 204 by Greg Chappell in 1980-81.
