Long wait for the new generation Honda City has finally come to an end, as the Japanese auto major has unveiled the vehicle in the national capital on Monday.

The car has received changes in almost every department be it the exterior, interior, features, engine options or dimensions, which make it an even more desirable product now.

With this new model, the Honda City has entered its fourth generation in India, while sixth globally.

Since, it was a global unveiling of the product; the company hasn't yet disclosed the pricing, which we believe to be announced at its launch in January 2014.

According to the Honda the company's focus while developing the city was on three aspects: advanced sporty design, best comfort and best fuel efficiency.

The new generationCity adopts Honda's new design concept ‘Exciting H Design’, which gives it a unique character and strong presence.

This design concept boasts of a "Solid Wing Face, Well Toned Athlete Form body and Finely Honed Surfacing on the exterior."

What still remains unchanged is the arrow-head shape of the front, but it now has a more prominent grille, sleek bumper and twin-barrel headlamps.

The side profile of the car now has more pronounced character lines running through the doors, while the rear tail lights merge well with the boot lid of the car.

Honda has also claimed the new Honda City to be the widest car in its class with 1695mm of width. The car also offers a bigger and spacious cabin, thanks to the extended wheelbase (an improvement of 50mm).

Staying true to Honda's 'man maximum machine minimum' approach, the new City has been packaged quite well that it offers more space to its passenger.

What adds more to its comfort is the Layered Floating Cockpit with advanced interface, which give the driver controls and instant access to all important information.

What also differentiates the new city from the old version is the availability of diesel engine option this time.

The new City will be offered with the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which also does duty to the Amaze. However, the engine is likely to be tuned for more power.

The company also claims the City diesel to be the most fuel efficient car, though the fuel efficiency figures are yet to revealed.

Powering the City petrol will be the existing 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, capable of churning out a maximum power output of 116.3bhp at 6600rpm, while yielding 146Nm of peak torque.
