InfosysAn Infosys employee, working at the company's Mahindra World City centre here, has been missing since Monday, police said.

Avik Mukherjee (23) was last seen on August 9 by his roommates at his rented flat in Singaperumal Koil, 40 kms from Chennai.

According to Avik's father Bhrigu Mukherjee, a senior officer at Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh, Aviks roommate Devanjan Bhattacharya had informed him on Tuesday that Avik did not return after he left at 9.30 pm on Monday, they said.

"When Devanjan called me on Tuesday and told that Avik had not returned, I asked him to lodge a complaint. He then filed a missing person complaint with the Maraimalainagar Police Station," said Bhrigu, who arrived in Chennai along with his wife on Thursday night.

Avik joined Infosys on July 1 and had moved to the flat after a seven-day orientation at the company hostel.

When Bhrigu visited the Infosys office along with a local inspector he discovered that Avik had not been attending work for a few days, prior to his disappearance.

Bhrigu also met assistant superintendent of Chengalpattu, Xavier, this morning in this connection.
