RNRL net up 4% at Rs 71.54 cr

Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Natural Resources LtdĀ reported on Thursday a 4.32 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 71.54 crore (Rs 715.4 million) for the year ended March 31, 2009.

The group had a net profit of Rs 68.58 crore (Rs 685.8 million) for the year ended March 31, 2008, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The consolidated income increased to Rs 418.96 crore (Rs 4.18 billion) for the year ended March 31, 2009, up 14.06 per cent from Rs 367.31 crore (Rs 3.67 billion) in the year-ago period.

On a standalone basis (power trading), RNRL posted a 1.86 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 69.87 crore (Rs 698.7 million) for the year ended March 31, 2009, as compared to Rs 68.59 crore (Rs 685.9 million) last year.

During the quarter ended March 31, 2009, Reliance Cement Resources Pvt Ltd became a step-down subsidiary of RNRL.

Reliance Cement Resources Pvt Ltd is a subsidiary of Reliance Cementation, which in turn is a subsidiary of RNRL. Shares of RNRL were trading in positive territory with gains of 1.38 per cent at Rs 58.60 on BSE in late afternoon trade.
