Fast food chain McDonald's India is planning to continue with its expansion and will open 40 more restaurants across the country during 2009-10.

"We are continuing with our growth strategy and plans to open 40 more restaurants this fiscal," Vikram Bakshi, managing director and joint venture partner (North and East), McDonald's India said on the sidelines of a CII conference in New Delhi. He, however, did not disclose the company's investment plans.

"We have currently 158 restaurants in the country and our aim is to continue to expand and grow in the Indian market," Bakshi said.

Regarding the chain's newly launched special breakfast menu, Bakshi said, "We have started trial runs in three of our restaurants and would look at how things go ahead before taking any decisions to expand it," he said.

Under the new breakfast menu scheme, the restaurant chain had started offering certain items in its menu during the morning hours.
